Running is my "out." When I run I can think about anything, or nothing at all. I can just go without ever turning back or looking behind. I can Escape the world...
Endure...
"There are people who have no bodies, only heads. And many athletes have no heads, only bodies. A champion is a man who has trained his body and his mind, who has learned to conquer pain for his own purposes. A great athlete is at peace with himself and at peace with the world..."

"The Other Half" October, 2007 (Moab, UT)
Joann and I had a great time running together! Oh yeah, the yellow thing in my hand is in fact a disposable camera. I carried it the entire race, snapping photos of moments only participants could see. I've added a few to the page for you to enjoy!
This is the face of pain and misery at the same time. The best moment is when you cross the finish and they place a ribbon around your neck. You feel like a real champion.
The Pink Lades! Moab 1/2 Marathon-Oct. 2007
I spotted these ladies at about mile 3 in the race and just had to have a picture! They ran the whole race with these pink wigs on! They said it kept their heads warm!
My Very First Bib!
Every time you participate in a race, you receive a bib with your number. As you cross the finish line they either say your bib number, or in this case your name. This was my very first bib I ever got!
Water Anyone? Moab-Oct. 2007
A few of the volunteers at one of the aid stations dressed up as various animals. I think this one dressed up as a moose was one of my favorites!
A Warm Welcome!
The Moab Valley Inn is the main sponsor of "The Other Half." The breakfast before the race is mighty tasty!
A Touching Moment...
Three men from the military carried the flag the entire Salt Lake Marathon. As they crossed the finish line not a word was said. Tears fell as people took off their hats and placed their hands over their hearts for this moment.
